"taking time to be still always allows me to see things more clearly. i wrote this song to thank my loved ones for supporting me through my darkest moments. it’s not always sunshine and rainbows, and i am endlessly grateful to those who love me, shadows and all. like most people, i had a hard time in 2020 and i struggled a lot with my mental health. being in nature when possible is one thing that kept me going. my partner and i drove to the beach in the winter, right when the days were starting to get longer. and there was a moment when i was outside looking at the sky and felt so lucky to be here on earth. despite every painful moment i would do it all again."
